The design of this home reorganised the rear of the building with a series of interconnected spaces with sliding walls to maintain privacy and climate control. It allowed for a variety of roof forms that complimented the existing building including a half octagon for the new kitchen which maximised the views to the rear garden. Being a few steps lower than the rest of the ground floor opened up a grand entrance looking through to the garden, and allowed for high ceilings. The rear rooms now have a more direct relationship to the outside. The main bedroom suite was also extended to allow for an exercise space overlooking distant views. This too has its own complimentary roof. The result now suits the owners for a more relaxed lifestyle within an architecturally varied building.
